I will never forget the first time I heard the song, online! (GIF via GIPHY) Big news regarding the two most important women music artists of the '80s (do I need to add an arguably?): (1) On a personal note, I'm proud to have been interviewed by Billboard for Sydney Urbanek's thoughtful take on the controversial “American Life” music video, pulled 20 years ago.
I think it's a very compelling song and an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink video that deserved to be seen then and now. (Image via Julien's) (2) Janet Jackson is dipping into her personal collection to sell off what one can only assume will be some outrageous stuff!
This kind of divestment usually happens when a star is at the end of their career and/or life, so for Janet to do this now is a rare treat.
