He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan. The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He bought the Miss Universe brand of beauty pageants in 1996, and sold it in 2015. He produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television series, from 2003 to 2015. As of 2020, Forbes estimated his net worth to be $2.1 billion.[

Same-sex marriage in Switzerland faces another delay

Switzerland’s Council of States has delayed moves to legalize same-sex marriage The issue has been before the Swiss parliament, the Federal Assembly, for around a decade.

But in June there was a big step forward when the National Council, the lower house of parliament, approved equal marriage by a big majority.

The bill then moved to the Council of States, the upper house. But this week it’s Legal Commission decided to postpone the vote.

It says it needs further clarification ‘on the constitutionality of the bill’. LGBT+ campaigners in Switzerland, who have united under a Marriage for All consortium, say they are disappointed with the postponement.
