Seven of the women on the women’s U.S. basketball team or half the team are LGBTQ. Six members of the rugby team and six members of the rowing team are out.
Track and field boasts four LGBTQ team members including Sha’Carri Richardson of Dallas. The next largest contingency of out athletes at this year’s Olympic games is Brazil with 30.
