BBC, Austin revealed Mercury’s home had remained largely unchanged since his death. However, she had reached the difficult decision to now sell almost everything, save for a few keepsakes.Austin, 72, said she had contacted Sotheby’s to sell the items, “because I need to put my affairs in order.”“The time has come for me to take the difficult decision to close this very special chapter in my life.”A portion of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Freddie Mercury Trust and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Sothebys estimate the sale could net $7.5million in total.Items available will include artworks and antiques from Mercury’s home, stage wear, merchandise, and handwritten lyrics.

These include the lyrics to “We are the Champions” and “KIller Queen”Sotheby’s calls the ‘Freddie Mercury: A World of His Own’ auction, “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the private realm of a global icon.“Alongside his legendary public persona, Freddie Mercury was a deeply educated collector with a connoisseur’s eye, honed over years of careful research and exploration of the artists and movements that sparked his intellectual and aesthetic curiosity.”Because of the number of items on sale, the auctions will take place in four sessions.

Previews of some of the items will take place in New York (June 1-8) and Los Angeles (June 14-18 June).Extremely obsessed with this beautiful clock from the Freddie Mercury collection being auctioned by Sotherby's.If anyone can find an affordable one even remotely similar I would be exceedingly grateful.

tv Entertainment Showtime travelers Matt Bomer & Jonathan Bailey tease “explicit” gay romance ‘Fellow Travelers,’ featuring plenty of role play
ever.Since it’s first announcement, we’ve been all aboard Showtime’s upcoming miniseries, Fellow Travelers—adapting Thomas Mallon’s historical fiction novel of the same name—a decades-spanning story that follows the romance between two men, from the ’50s to the ’80s.Out actors Matt Bomer (The Normal Heart, Magic Mike) and Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, the upcoming Wicked movies) will play the star-crossed lovers, whose relationship begins in the ’50s at the height of McCarthyism, evolves along with the queer liberation movement in the ’70s, and culminates in the ’80s during the AIDS epidemic. If you’ve read the (excellent) source novel, you’re already aware of the story, but we’ve seen precious little of the Showtime adaptation—aside from some leaked set photos that left us soaking wet—until now.Vanity Fair has a first-look preview of Fellow Travelers, which features equally gorgeous and sexy stills from the series, as well as some titillating quotes from Bomer and Bailey about their characters’ intense bond and “explicit” chemistry.Bomer plays Hawkins Fuller, a charming but private political staffer and former war hero, while Bailey stars as Tim Laughlin, a recent college graduate said to be optimistic about the future post-WWII.The pair first meet in the early days of the “Lavender Scare,” a time when Senator Joseph McCarthy was stoking fears of communism and firing anyone from the government suspected of being gay, to devastating effect.
