This was largely possible because I was going to countries where the cost of living was a lot cheaper. In some places I was paying as little as 70p for a pint and £1 for dinner.

When I came back I was really shocked at the prices of some things in the UK — the cost of drinking and eating out seems to have gone up by so much in the past few years.
