A new face is coming to Grey’s Anatomy. ABC‘s long-running medical drama series will be adding a new, male gay character amid the exit of Jake Borelli, Deadline’s sister pub TVLine reports.
We learned in May that Borelli, who plays gay doctor Levi Schmitt, will be exiting the series next season after wrapping up his storyline.
Borelli has been on the show for seven years, the past five seasons as series regular. The new actor will recur as a hospital chaplain, according to TVLine.
In the Season 20 finale, Levi was having to rethink his future after not doing well enough on the ABSITE test to be eligible for a peds fellowship.
