Kit Connor is rumoured to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as one of the comic’s most iconic gay heroes. According to rumours from both MyTimeToShineHello and The Cosmic Circus, both of which are known to be reliable tea-spillers, the Heartstopper star is being eyed to play – drum roll please! – Hulkling.
In the comics, Hulkling is a Kree/Skrull hybrid who possesses shapeshifting abilities and super strength. His partner is Wiccan, the son of Scarlet Witch who, like his mother, has abilities such as chaos magic, flight, reality warping, telekinesis, telepathy, teleportation, among others.
Hulkling and Wiccan are widely hailed as “Marvel’s most prominent gay couple”. Connor is best known for his performance as Nick Nelson in Netflix’s acclaimed teen drama Heartstopper, for which he won the inaugural Children’s and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Performance.
He has also garnered praise for roles in Get Santa (2014), Rocket’s Island (2014-2015) and Rocketman (2019), and has been confirmed to star in the upcoming horror One of Us, A24’s war film Warfare and the rom-com A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow.
