‘Love to the Max’ tells story of Denton family

The New Yorker produced a short video called Love to the Max about a trans teen from Denton and his loving family. In 2022, Amber and Adam Briggle got a phone call that Child Protective Services received a complaint and the couple was being investigated for child abuse.

Their crime? They loved and supported their trans son Max. The family’s reaction was everything from terror that they were going to lose their children and having to get police protection because of repeated threats to testifying before the Legislature and filing a lawsuit.
