Posting on Reddit about the situation, user u/Stunning-Mud9227 explained that his 16-year-old son came out as gay a year ago, which was "hard to accept" but all he wants is for him to be happy.

However, the poster's wife, 44, didn't take it well and "seemed to go through a grieving period," and kept saying it was "just a phase."Things took a turn recently when the Redditor's wife suggested sending their son to a conversion therapy camp.

That was a horrifying suggestion for the poster, 45, who was in disbelief that she'd even tout such an idea. The post reads: "She said that Noah isn't truly gay, that he just 'hasn't been shown the right path' and that this could 'fix him.' My blood ran cold, [obviously] I was in shock.

I immediately told her I didn't agree and that this was not something I could support."Newsweek reached out to u/Stunning-Mud9227 for comment.
