Alex Russo was hiding a lot more than being a wizard. Over ten years after the fan favorite Disney Channel show Wizards of Waverly Place concluded in 2012, fans are still hungry for any new details they can get their hands on — and show creator Peter Murrieta is delivering.
While appearing on the Wizards of Waverly Pod Monday, the creative mind behind the series revealed some inneresting news regarding the show’s lead, who was famously played by Selena Gomez.
After years of speculation, Murrieta confirmed to hosts David DeLuise and Jennifer Stone, who played Jerry Russo and Harper Finkle respectively, that Alex was a member of the LGBTQIA+ community! However, one story arc that didn’t quite make the cut would have apparently explored a deeper kind of relationship between the two… Murrieta explained: Imagine that!
