A post shared by brett quigley (@brettquigley)Brett Quigley changed his life on a walk from the hospital in New York’s West Village to Grand Central.
Discharged from his seventh hospitalization for drinking, he vowed to get sober, and embrace his creativity. The result was Sparrow Blue, a streetwear brand that embraces the weird, right down to its signature Evil Eye.Inspired by a Lana Del Rey lyric, Quigley wanted the company to serve as a canvass for self-expression.
He has a lot to story to tell, and wants each item of clothing to project individuality. “It’s supposed to represent joy and freedom, as opposed to a darker nature.” he said.Subscribe to our newsletter for a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.Quigley launched Sparrow Blue with his grandmother, a seamstress who always made his Halloween costumes and other outfits.
His pieces, which are often distressed with dye washes and bleach patterns, are available in small boutiques throughout California, where he resides.
