Luke Evans gets teary-eyed as he recalls coming out to his parents
Boy From The Valleys, in recent weeks. It details his early years growing up as an only child in Wales in a strict, Jehovah’s Witness household.Unsurprisingly, being raised by parents with such strict religious beliefs meant that Evans wrestled with his sexuality and coming out.He ended up leaving home, aged just 16, to pursue a career as an actor.Subscribe to our newsletter for a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.During two recent appearances, Evans became visibly emotional recalling his coming out process with his folks. On the Queerphobia podcast, Evans tried to read out the part of the book where he came out to his mom. He quickly became emotional reliving that memory.“Mum took me in her arms and I felt so much love and acceptance in that hug, I started to cry.
