Omar Ayuso penned a heartfelt tribute to his Élite family after wrapping the show’s final season. Since 2018, the popular Spanish teen series has captivated viewers with its dramatic storylines and memorable characters.

Élite has also received acclaim for its LGBTQIA+ representation and diverse set of queer characters, including Omar Shanaa (Ayuso), Ander Muñoz (Arón Piper), Patrick Blanco (Manu Rios), Rebeka Parrilla (Claudia Salas) and Iván Carvalho.

Due to its continued popularity, Netflix renewed the series for an eighth season in October, days before the seventh entry premiered.

While the news was exciting for long-time fans, Élite creator Carlos Montero later confirmed that the upcoming batch of episodes would be its last. “We are shooting the eighth season, which will be the last season of Élite.
