This is so not fetch! The original stars of Mean Girls might not return for the upcoming movie musical Back in December, Paramount+ announced that a film based on the teen comedy’s hit Broadway musical adaptation was officially in the works.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the feature is set to be written by Tina Fey – who wrote the original film – and produced by SNL creator Lorne Michaels.
As for the cast, The Sex Lives of College Girls star Renee Rapp and Moana’s Auli’i Cravalho have signed on to play power-hungry Queen Bee Regina George and sarcastic art student Janis Sarkisian, respectively.
In addition to Rapp and Cravalho, Senior year’s Angourice Rice is set to portray transfer student Cady Heron, with A Strange Loop powerhouse Jaquel Spivey joining as Janis’ openly gay best friend, Damian Hubbard.
