Gay Republican George Santos, who allegedly lied his way into a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the November 2022 elections, this week found himself facing even more criminal charges and an effort by some of his GOP colleagues in the House to have him expelled from Congress, according to reports by Politico and other sources, including ABC News.
Santos, who represents New York’s 3rd District had already been indicted in May on 13 criminal counts — seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives and one count of theft of public funds.
