Because of your votes and your values, I am proud to be your next member of Congress,” Sarah shared on Instagram. “Delaware has sent the message loud and clear that we must be a country that protects reproductive freedom, that guarantees paid leave and affordable child care for all our families, that ensures that housing and health care are available to everyone and that this is a democracy that is big enough for all of us.” Rep Lisa Blunt Rochester is also the projected winner for Delaware’s Senate seat, picking up 56.4% of the vote!
This is the second time Sarah McBride has made history in her political career. Back in the 2020 Election, she also became the first Transgender person to be elected to the Senate, where she won the seat after running when Harris McDowell III retired.
