gay couple have been left 'heartbroken' by the Home Office it advised them they must separate or relocate to a country where it is not safe to be homosexual.
Jack and George Scott-Lee are professional dancers and run an academy together in Tipton. George, originally from Venezuela, arrived in the UK as a tourist three years ago.He applied for a partner visa when the pair parried in 2021.
Despite meeting the Home Office requirements - and spending thousands on visa fees - his application was rejected on the grounds it would be safe for the couple to live together in Venezuela, reports Birmingham Live. They now face deciding whether to separate or moving somewhere where same-sex partnerships were not protected by law.
George has been given just 14 days to leave the county. The couple have urged the Home Office to show some 'compassion' as they prepared to appeal the decision.
