The ‘Pussy Is God’ singer is back in the studio, just under a year after the release of her second studio album. After a year of touring with Kacey Musgraves, Shawn Mendes and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the 24-year-old (real name Mikaela Straus) reveals that she is working on new music. “I’m always in the studio.

The minute I’m off tour, I’m in the studio,” she exclusively tells GAY TIMES. “I feel in a place in my life where I’m just really getting in my nerd shit and sitting at my computer and in my studio and just making stuff.” The American alt-pop artist also hinted at new collaborators: “I have people I love working with, always, and then I add a couple people and start working with some new blood as well.” However, devoted fans need not worry – King Princess’s sound isn’t going to drastically change.  “I re-tap into things that I really love and that I know that my fans love,” she explains. “I think people like when I get weird, and I need to be my weird self.

And finally, I’m back in my, ‘Oh, I can be a freak’. Just a music nerd freak.” Though “it’s gonna be a minute” before a new release, they urge fans to keep eyes on their Discord server. “If you wanna hear any snippets, go on my Discord because that’s where I drop all my snippets.” King Princess is currently on tour in the UK, having performed 18 July at KOKO, London and 19 July Bristol.

They also have an upcoming headline show in Manchester (22 July). They are also supporting Red Hot Chilli Peppers in London (21 July) and Glasgow (23 July).
