Max has finally revealed the future of Hacks, and fans are rightfully gagging. Spoilers ahead Back in 2021, TV viewers were first treated to the Max original series, which follows the volatile professional/personal relationship between “Gen Z” writer Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder) and legendary Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart).
Since its debut, Hacks has garnered critical acclaim and earned numerous awards, including a Primetime Emmy. On 2 May, fans were finally treated to the dramedy’s third season following an extended hiatus.
The nine episodes pick up a year after the events of the season two finale—which saw Deborah fire Ava—and explore the pair’s new complicated and awkward dynamic.
The synopsis reads: “A year after parting, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) is riding high off the success of her standup special while Ava (Hannah Einbinder) pursues new opportunities back in Los Angeles.” Like its past entries, Hacks’ third season was an immediate hit with both viewers and critics, with many praising the writing and the cast’s performances.
