The first trailer for Elité’s eighth and final season has arrived and, as expected, there’s mystery, sex and… lots of shirtless men.

Premiering 26 July on Netflix, the last eight episodes of the long-running Spanish drama will feature “secrets, rivalries, corruption, and excess in the purest Élite style.” Season eight will introduce Emilia (Ane Rot) and Héctor Krawietz (Nuno Gallego), siblings and leaders of the Las Encinas alumni association, who are set to “shake the school foundations”.

The official synopsis continues: “Influential, powerful, corrupt and corrupters, the Krawietz will scatter chaos wherever they go and will destroy the lives of those who fall prey to them. “Only Omar will be able to face them and will be willing to do anything to see them fall, because in the end, they represent everything that has always been wrong in Las Encinas.” The final season will star Omar Ayuso as Omar, André Lamoglia as Armando, Valentina Zenere as Isadora, Mirela Balić as Chloe, Gleb Abrosimov as Eric, Fernando Líndez as Joel, Nadia Al Saidi as Sonia, Ander Puig as Nicholás, Carmen Arrufat as Sara, Mina el Hammani as Nadia, Iván Mendes as Dalmar and Maribel Verdú as Carmen.

Carlos Montero, creator, confirmed the show’s conclusion last year in a season seven press conference, telling reporters that he and co-showrunner Jamie Vaca “thought it was time to end it”. “I say this with great regret because it’s been several incredible years in which I’ve met wonderful actors, we’ve worked with all the directors we wanted to work with and we’ve had the luxury of having Maribel these last two seasons,” he explained. “Élite changed everyone’s life, there are actors who started with us and it has been their springboard to be now world stars, it is happening to this cast and it is a pride to have contributed to that and to know that they have seen us all over the world and liked it.” The first seven seasons of Elité are now streaming on Netflix.
