As of 2020, Forbes estimated his net worth to be $2.1 billion.[

Donald Trump’s pick for Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, appears to have done a u-turn regarding gay people in the military.The former Fox News pundit has previously made it clear he regrets the repeal of ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’.

Here’s a clip of him in 2015 saying that ditching DADT, and allowing women to serve in frontline military roles, was an exercise in “social engineering” that is “going to inevitably start eroding standards.”Pete Hegseth, Trump’s nominee to lead the military, complained about changes to Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, a policy that banned gay troops from serving openly.

According to CNN this week, as recently as this summer, Hegseth was still raging against the end of DADT.In his 2024 book, “The War on Warriors”, Hegseth said he saw the original “don’t ask, don’t tell” (DADT) policy and its repeal in 2011 as a “gateway” and a “camouflage” for broader cultural changes that have undermined military cohesion and effectiveness.
