One of the most bizarre rumours to come out of the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise has finally been put to rest after years of speculation.

After appearing as a guest judge on the US edition of the show’s ninth season in 2017, the internet was set alight with allegations that Meghan Trainor stole Shea Couleé’s sandwich during filming.

Trinity the Tuck, who was there for the episode and later went on to win season four of All Stars alongside Monét X Change, discussed the incident in November 2020. “She just didn’t come across as respectful or, or, you know, interested,” Trinity said of the ‘Mother’ singer. “And, and she stole one of the girl’s sandwiches on set from catering.

She just wanted it. And she’s like, ‘I’m going to take it,’ I don’t know if she probably didn’t even know it was theirs, but yeah, she took one of their sandwiches that, and one of the girls didn’t have their sandwich. “They had to go get their food elsewhere.” “I am not only a gorgeous drag queen but I am also a compulsive liar” However, six years since the allegations first surfaced online, Shea has finally debunked them while presenting the 2023 Streamy Awards on 27 August. “Look, okay, I shouldn’t be doing this, going off script, but I feel like I have to,” she said. “I don’t know if you have encountered this rumour that when you were on Drag Race as a guest judge you ate a drag queen’s sandwich… I made that rumour up.
