RuPaul’s Drag Race UK has been renewed for a sixth season. On Friday (22 September), the official social media accounts for the BBC Three series confirmed the news by announcing that applications are now open, “officially!” In a short video, RuPaul calls “all UK queens” to submit their tapes before the deadline, which is 20 October 2023.
Drag Race UK’s renewal doesn’t come as much of a gag; BBC recently revealed that the first four seasons have been streamed over 67 million times, making it one of the network’s most successful shows ever.
Season five, premiering 28 September, will see the return of RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr as regular panellists.
Aisling Bea, Alexandra Burke, Cush Jumbo, Daphne Guinness, Joel Dommett, Kristen McMenamy, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Suranne Jones and Yasmin Finney will guest judge, with additional cameos from Edward Enninful OBE, Carol Vorderman, Karen Hauer and Claudimar Neto.
