That was the best lip sync of Drag Race season 16 so far
Ladies! I am boiling. My blood is simmering through my veins and I have some things to say, ok?! After a mostly bad and boring episode last week, the seven remaining queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16 kicked things off at level 100 this week.
On the return to the Werk Room, Dawn and Q rib Plane Jane about placing in the bottom for the week. Tensions get high as Dawn calls Plane’s look “boring”.
And this, actually, is where I have something to say. It’s important we all take a look around at who is talking here. Even if Plane was in the theoretical bottom, the two people cracking jokes comprise the other two thirds of that bottom placement.
Plane had a good verse, a solid look, and was able to actually feel the funk! Her critique was not that she wasn’t good, it was that she wasn’t as good as the judges have come to expect from her, specifically.
