The Trump administration continued its crusade against transgender, nonbinary and gender queer people today as employees at multiple federal agencies were ordered to remove pronouns from their email signatures by this afternoon, according to reports by ABC News.
ABC pointed to internal memos citing two executive orders signed by President Trump the same day he was inaugurated and aimed at ending diversity and equality programs in the federal government.
Staff at the Centers for Disease Control received a memo this morning noting that “Pronouns and any other information not permitted in the policy must be removed from CDC/ATSDR employee signatures by 5.p.m.
ET on Friday.” Employees at the Department of Transportation and the Department of Energy received similar notices, ABC reports. — Tammye Nash
