Rosalynn Carter, wife of former President Jimmy Carter, has died at the age of 96 at their home in Plains on Sunday according to a spokesperson for the Carter Center.
The Carter Center had announced on Thursday that on behalf of Jason Carter, grandson of President and Mrs. Carter, the former First Lady had entered hospice care at home.
The center previously announced this past May that she was suffering from dementia, three months after former President Carter entered hospice care at home in February of this year. “She and President Carter are spending time with each other and their family.
The Carter family continues to ask for privacy and remains grateful for the outpouring of love and support,” Thursday’s statement read.
