The film ‘Peafowl’ features queer themes and is part of this year’s Asian Film Festival of Dallas. (Courtesy photos) Today (July 13) marks the opening of the 22nd edition of the Asian Film Festival of Dallas (AFFD).
The four-day festival features more than 20 films including features, documentary and more with special screenings and guests speakers.
The festival runs through Sunday with all screenings happening at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas. Among this year’s selections is Peafowl by Sung Bin Byun.
The film centers on waacking – a dance style that strikes similar poses to voguing . The main character faces pressure preparing for a dance battle.
