Antoni Porowski is reflecting on how the Queer Eye “family has changed” following the exit of co-star Bobby Berk.Ahead of the Netflix show’s ninth season, interior decorator Jeremiah Brent stepped in as the newest member of the Fab Five, replacing Berk who didn’t renew his contract and felt “mentally and emotionally” ready to move on.The change was shocking to fans of the Emmy Award-winning makeover show, which premiered in 2018.

But while “there isn’t too much communication,” he holds no “resentment or ill-will” over his departure.A post shared by Antoni Porowski (@antoni)“I support anything that [Berk] chooses to pursue,” he explained, adding that they shared some “really wonderful years.”“No matter what happened or happens, we will always have these memories and these things that we experienced in endless press junkets, where one of us is falling asleep from jet lag, and the other one would pick up the other’s slack,” he said.According to the culinary expert, QE‘s original quintet (which also includes Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, and Tan France) is like a “middle-aged boy band.” And after experiencing “this really bizarre phenomenon together,” they’re inextricably bonded.Nevertheless, the 40-year-old acknowledged change and evolution are necessary parts of life.“I try to lean into the impermanence and just have faith that everything is as it should be, even if there’s sadness or joy that comes with it,” he said.As for his new co-star, Porowski called Brent a “wonderful” addition, bringing “a different perspective into the chaos of the five of us” as a married father with two kids. (Berk himself said he thought Brent was “gonna do great.” And so far, the gay critics agree.)A post shared by Antoni Porowski.
