Trump was born and raised in Queens, a borough of New York City, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He bought the Miss Universe brand of beauty pageants in 1996, and sold it in 2015. He produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television series, from 2003 to 2015. As of 2020, Forbes estimated his net worth to be $2.1 billion.[

US Attorney’s office discloses two D.C. anti-LGBTQ hate crime cases

The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, which prosecutes most people charged with committing crimes in the nation’s capital, disclosed for the first time earlier this month that a murder and an assault with a dangerous weapon that occurred in D.C.

in 2021 have been classified as anti-LGBTQ hate crimes. Court records show that arrests have been made in both cases and a man arrested in the murder case is being held without bond and is scheduled for a jury trial on May 6, 2024.

Another man arrested in the unrelated anti-transgender assault case is scheduled to stand trial on Sept. 26, 2023. Assistant U.S.

Attorney Linda Monroe provided information about the two cases at a June 15 virtual meeting of the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Hate-Bias Task Force, which was attended by local LGBTQ activists.
